Following a recent carve-out and fresh private equity backing, our client was focused on building an independent leadership team capable of driving growth across a complex, international operation. They needed a senior finance leader who could partner closely with the CFO, lead investor relations, and prepare the business for future strategic activity, while also being a credible long-term successor.

The brief called for rare experience in both listed and private equity environments, a track record of professionalising global finance functions, and comfort with operating at pace in a change-driven environment. They also specified a four-day presence in New York, further narrowing the candidate pool.

We introduced our preferred candidate early in the process. While we continued a broad search, including a recommendation from the CEO’s own network who was interviewed in the process, it quickly became clear that our initial candidate brought the right capability, presence, and cultural alignment.
