Following its carve-out from a Big Four firm and acquisition by a private equity firm, the business appointed a new CEO who identified gaps in its commercial model. Legacy sales approaches, regional silos, and inconsistent client experiences were stalling growth and limiting cross-sell.

To move forward, they needed a seasoned global leader, someone with the credibility to unify sales enablement, elevate client engagement, and deliver results in a change-resistant, siloed environment. While the role formally sat within the growth function, it maintained a close link to the CEO, making stakeholder influence and alignment essential.

Having worked closely with the CEO in the past, we were brought in based on a trusted relationship. The initial brief focused on multiple hires, but it quickly became clear the priority was a single, heavyweight commercial leader with global oversight. From the outset, this was an international search. We focused on North America and Europe, looking beyond professional services to adjacent sectors like fintech, and technology consulting.

The aim was to find someone who could bring fresh thinking to a people-based sales model, someone who didn’t sell software, but understood how to sell human capital and advisory services. The ideal candidate needed to move at pace, travel extensively, influence laterally, and scale impact across a complex, global structure.

We moved quickly to deliver a diverse shortlist, and one candidate stood out immediately. A senior commercial leader from a global tech consultancy, she brought the perfect blend of credibility, experience, and pragmatism to succeed in a complex, siloed environment.

Since joining, she’s become a key influencer, building global buy-in, driving alignment, and shaping a more connected, effective sales model.
