Our client, a global sports betting and gaming operator, merged with TSG in 2021. The merger created the largest sports betting and gaming company in the world.
As a result of the merger, our client needed help to select the right candidates for roles in the evolving leadership team and to support the development planning of directors and executives taking on challenging positions. The client desired a process that could be applied across multiple business units and inform selection decisions and development planning, in a consistent, objective, and fair way.
We collaborated with the internal CEO Advisor and HR Leaders to develop a tiered approach based on Redgrave’s Executive Assessment methodology, that complemented the existing employee data and the interviews undertaken by the decision makers.
We designed a user-friendly yet robust assessment process that provided objective evidence, which included:
Online psychometrics giving insights to cognitive ability, personality, motivation, and leadership style
Behavioural interviews with a Redgrave Assessment expert (for executive team roles)
Evaluation reports that provided insights into the candidate’s strengths, development areas, and risks in relation to their suitability for roles
Initially, we conducted assessments of internal candidates for roles on the evolving Executive team to help select and maximise their performance. Following the success of this initial phase, Flutter embedded our assessment into the selection processes for senior roles, and we have subsequently assessed over 200 candidates across a variety of business units. We have continually refined our assessment process to meet the business’s requirements, including remapping the psychometric data points to align to Flutter’s new Success Profile. We also provide group level analysis of the assessment results to inform development planning at the collective level.
